Charlie Vogt

President & Chief Executive Officer

Charlie Vogt joined DZS as president and CEO in August 2020, bringing two decades of experience as a CEO and over 30 years of professional experience in executing visionary strategies that resulted in unprecedented growth in communications markets.

Prior to DZS, Mr. Vogt was president and CEO of four companies: ATX Networks, a global leader of optical access networking and media distribution solutions, Imagine Communications, a world-leading provider of video software and unified distribution solutions, GENBAND (now Ribbon Communications), a global leader in IP networking and software solutions, and Taqua, a market leader in softswitch technology. Earlier in his career, Mr. Vogt was instrumental in the operational and financial growth of several of standard-setting technology companies which included ADTRAN and Ascend Communications that either became public companies or were acquired.

Mr. Vogt holds a B.S. in Economics and Computer Science from Saint Louis University.

Tom Cancro

Tom Cancro

Chief Financial Officer

Tom Cancro has been Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of DZS since December 2019, bringing 30 years of finance experience to the CFO role.

Previously, Mr. Cancro held positions with Verizon Communications and GE, among others, including as Chief Financial Officer of Verizon’s joint venture with AT&T and Deutsche Telekom.  

Mr. Cancro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and also holds a CFA Charter.

Mitch Fleming

Vice President of Americas Sales

Mitch Fleming serves as Vice President of Americas Sales for DZS. Mr. Fleming joined DZS in August 2019 as Vice President of Business Development and brings more than 20 years of telecommunications and start-up experience to his role.

Prior to joining DZS, Mr. Fleming held various senior management and executive positions with a wide variety of leaders and pioneers in SDN, orchestration, and next generation access from across the telecommunications industry, including ADTRAN, Calix, Cyan and Iphotonix. As President of Iphotonix, he led all aspects of sales, marketing, product development and strategic partner relationships in providing solutions to enterprises and service providers. During his tenure as VP Sales at ADTRAN, he was responsible for North American sales, sales engineering and business development, and led all North American sales activities at Cyan and Calix as well.

Mr. Fleming holds a Bachelor of Arts (pre-law) degree from UC Berkeley.

Jun Bahk

Executive Vice President of Asia Sales

Jun Bahk serves as Executive Vice President of Asia Sales for DZS. Mr. Bahk joined DZS in February 2017 as Vice President of Management Innovation and brings more than 20 years of telecommunications and IT start-up experience to his role.

Prior to joining DZS, Mr. Bahk held various senior management and executive positions with British Telecom Plc, UK and Korea Telecom Corp. He was Senior Vice President and Head of Global Business at KT responsible for global sales and operations, strategic alliance/partnership and strategic investment projects to expand global. During his tenure with BT Plc, Mr. Bahk held senior management positions in product management, strategy, marketing, business development and sales.

Mr. Bahk holds an M.B.A. from Nanzan University, Japan and also studied international business at Indiana University.

Keith Nauman

Services and Quality

Keith Nauman serves as the global leader for Services and Quality for DZS, responsible for comprehensive quality, feature, and performance testing of new products and software releases, and providing 24×7 technical support and professional services for DZS solutions across the globe. For more than 30 years, Mr. Nauman has served in leadership roles focusing on the definition, design, development, test and support of voice and data communications products.

Mr. Nauman’s career spans three major technology waves for residential Internet Access: Dial Modems, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), and Fiber To The Home (FTTH). Mr. Nauman has held executive level roles at DZS or its predecessor companies which were all leaders in these aforementioned technologies (AT&T Bell Laboratories, Paradyne, and Zhone Technologies), since June 1986.

Mr. Nauman holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Monmouth University in Eatontown, NJ.

Philip Yim

Philip Yim

Chief Operating Officer

Philip Yim serves as Chief Operating Officer for DZS, responsible for the company’s growth in Marketing & Product Management, Operations, IT-DevOps, and global R&D program coordination. Mr. Yim joined DZS in June 2017 as Vice President of Engineering, bringing more than thirty years of experience across the data and telecommunications sectors.

Prior to DZS, Mr. Yim held several global multinational executive leadership positions across global operations, marketing, development, business and sales, most recently as Executive Vice President of Global Program Management for Allied Telesis. Mr. Yim was the original founder of Turin Networks, and was the head of Product Line Management for Advanced Fiber Communications. Earlier in his career Philip led the Product Line Management group and R&D team at Siemens / Plessey Broadband Communication over a 15 year tenure.

Mr. Yim holds a B.S. in Engineering (1st Class Honors) with an emphasis in Electronic and Control Systems from University of Bradford, England.

Daniel Won

Asia Operations

Daniel Won serves as the leader of Asia Operations for DZS. Mr. Won joined DZS in September 2016 as President of DNS Korea in connection with the Merger of Zhone Technologies and DASAN Solutions.

Mr. Won brings over thirty years of experience in the telecommunications marketplace across several disciplines, including executive management, engineering and sales. Prior to his roles with DZS, Mr. Won held various executive positions at LG and Cisco Systems.

Mr. Won holds an M.B.A. from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), and a B.S. from Seoul National University.

Kai Uebach

EMEA Operations

Kai Uebach serves as the leader of EMEA Operations at DZS. He joined the company in March 2020 and is based in Hanover, Germany.  His focus is on business growth in the areas of next-generation broadband systems, passive optical LAN and the emerging 5G markets.

Kai Uebach brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the management, restructuring, reorientation and development of international organizations in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. He also has extensive know-how in project management, mergers and acquisitions, sales, strategy and business development.

Prior to joining DZS, Kai Uebach held various management, supervisory board and executive board positions, including Golden Towers BTS Vietnam; TalkPool AG in Switzerland; Telecel Globe, a subholding of Orascom Telecom with four mobile operators in Africa; the mobile operator MDC VELCOM in Belarus and various start-ups. From 2003 to 2007 he was President Siemens Mobile Networks and responsible for the EMEA region.

Mr. Uebach holds a master in Electronic Engineering with an emphasis on IT and telecommunication from the University for Telecommunication in Dieburg, Germany.

Dr. Seungdong Lee

Office of CTO

Dr. Seungdong Lee serves as the leader of the Office of CTO for DZS, leading the team responsible for system/software design, development initiatives for global R&D activities, creation/management of intellectual property and decision on technology evolution strategy. Dr. Lee joined DZS in September 2016 in connection with the Merger of Zhone Technologies and DASAN Solutions, where he also served as CTO.

Dr. Lee was a pioneer in implementing MMU-awareness for embedded debugger while he was working for Mentor Graphics ESD. Dr. Lee also played a significant role in proving the viability of embedded Linux as a platform for network operating system before Linux gained wide acceptance and popularity. Dr. Lee also lead IP-DSLAM and ATCA blade development while DASAN was a subsidiary company of Siemens / Nokia Siemens Networks.

Dr. Lee holds a Ph. D from Seoul National University.

Michael Siebke

Chief Information Officer

Michael Siebke serves as Chief Information Officer for DZS, responsible for business process digitalization and global IT effectiveness to support the company’s growth. Mr. Siebke joined DZS in January 2019 as part of the KEYMILE acquisition, bringing more than twenty years of experience in IT management including business process transformation and global enterprise architectures.

Prior to DZS, Mr. Siebke held executive leadership positions in IT and R&D. As global Head of IT at KEYMILE he introduced a unified ERP system landscape pushing harmonized business processes and operational excellence. Earlier in his career he held roles in R&D in the telecommunication industry including Philips Communications Industry and Alcatel, which involved project lead and development methodology responsibilities.

Mr. Siebke holds a master in Electronic Engineering with an emphasis on Informatics and Control Systems from University of Technology in Braunschweig, Germany.

Geoff Burke

Corporate Marketing

Geoff Burke is the global leader of Corporate Marketing for DZS. A renowned marketer and recognized industry visionary, he joined DZS in April 2020 and has brought a wealth of experience in leading marketing transformations and championing major communications industry initiatives to the company, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer at Broadband Forum.

Prior to joining Broadband Forum, Mr. Burke led Corporate Marketing at Calix, responsible for the Calix brand and company messaging worldwide. Mr. Burke has also held a variety of senior marketing, strategy, and operational roles at Motorola/Next Level Communications, The McKenna Group, KPMG Consulting, and Oracle Corporation.

Mr. Burke holds an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.

Blair King

Investor Relations

Blair King serves as the leader of Investor Relations for DZS.  Mr. King joined DZS in April 2018, bringing more twenty years of investment, startup and public company experience in the telecommunications sectors.

Prior to joining DZS, Mr. King led global Treasury and Investor Relations for Harmonic, where he was also a key team member in a number of board approved strategic projects spanning M&A, partnerships, development agreements, and capital raises. Prior to Harmonic, Mr. King led corporate development for Verimatrix, and was a senior equity research analyst covering the communications equipment manufacturing space. Mr. King began his career at Nortel and Arris, holding several roles in finance and sales including Vice President of Sales.

Mr. King holds an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University, and a B.A. from University of the Pacific.

Laura Larsen-Misunas

People Officer

Laura Larsen-Misunas serves as the global People Officer for DZS.  Mrs. Larsen-Misunas has held several progressively advancing administration and human resources management roles since joining DZS in 2000, for a total of more than twenty years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

Most recently at Ascend Communications, she established the company’s first Risk Management department, managing day to day cash, long term investments, and the foreign exchange program. Prior to Ascend, Mrs. Larsen-Misunas was a successful account manager and executive in the financial and insurance industries, having worked for Marsh and Willis.

Mrs. Larsen-Misunas holds a B.S. in Marketing from California State University San Francisco.

Alex Yastremski

Corporate Secretary

Alex Yastremski serves as Corporate Secretary to DZS. Mr. Yastremski joined DZS in February 2018, bringing more than eighteen years of legal executive expertise from law firms and technology ventures across several industries.

Prior to joining DZS, Mr. Yastremski was General Counsel for BitFury, one of the oldest and largest bitcoin miners in the world.  Mr. Yastremski began his legal career at the international law firm Coudert Brothers and, prior to going in-house, was also Counsel with Bingham McCutchen LLP.

Mr. Yastremski earned his J.D. at American University, Washington College of Law, and a B.A. (with Honors) from Bucknell University.
