Mr. Min Woo Nam serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DASAN Networks Inc. (formerly DASAN Internet Inc.). Mr. Nam has been the Chairman and Director of DASAN Zhone Solutions, Inc. since September 9, 2016, and currently serves as chair of the compensation and corporate governance & nominating committees. Mr. Nam founded DASAN Engineering, Inc. in 1993, following his founding of Korea Ready Systems in 1991. He founded ‘DASAN Internet Inc.’ merging ‘DASAN Engineering Inc.’ in 1999. Mr. Nam continues to serves as Vice Chairman of Korean Venture Business Association, having also served as its Chairman previously. Mr. Nam has been a Director of the Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation since November 2011, and was General Chairman of International Network Korea Entrepreneurs from 2004 to 2006.
Mr. Nam holds a B.S. in Engineering from Seoul National University in 1984, and also graduated from the Technical Research Center / Research Institute of Daewoo Motor Company.
Yung Kim has been President and CEO of DZS since September 2016, bringing a wealth of experience gained from his long career in telecommunications service providers. His ambition is to position DZS as the best solution provider at the forefront of transformation that service providers are going through in the convergence of all access networks.
Previously, Mr. Kim held various positions with Korea Telecom, including as President and executive board member, and as Chief Strategy Officer. Mr. Kim commenced his career with British Telecom, where he held various senior positions including Vice President of Technology and Innovation, Program Director and Head of Technology and Investment.
Mr. Kim holds an M.S. Degree in Microwave and Modern Optics and a B.S. (with Honors) in Electrical Engineering from University College, University of London.
Rolf Unterberger serves as Managing Director of RMU CAPITAL GmbH, as well as Managing Partner of Executive Interim Partners GmbH. Mr. Unterberger been a Director of DASAN Zhone Solutions, Inc., since April 9, 2018. Prior to his current roles, Mr. Unterberger served as a Board Member and Executive Manager for Frequentis AG in Austria, as an Executive Partner and Managing Director at Accenture in Germany. Mr. Unterberger also held different General Management positions for Siemens in Germany, Austria, China and Indonesia.
Mr. Unterberger holds degrees in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering. Mr. Unterberger has also completed executive programs at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and London Business School.
Mr. Seong-Gyun Kim serves as Executive Director for Finetex EnE Inc. a leading manufacturer of nanofibers using electrospinning technology. Mr. Kim has been a Director of DASAN Zhone Solutions, Inc., since September 9, 2016, and currently serves as chair of the audit committee. Mr. Kim previously served as Outside Director for Interpark Corp., Executive Director for DONG WON Corp, and Manager-Finance by Korea Rental Corp.
Mr. Kim holds an M.B.A. from Ajou University, and an undergraduate degree from Seoul National University.
David R. Schopp joined Private Equity firm Stonebridge Partners as an Operating Partner in 2004 and is also a General Partner in Fund IV. Mr. Schopp became a Director of DASAN Zhone Solutions, Inc., on August 13, 2018. He currently is Chairman of three portfolio companies; Cast-Crete, Hydraulex Global and Specialty Bakers, and previously was Chairman of American Dryer and Alpine Engineered Products. Mr. Schopp was previously President and CEO of Orbis Corporation, a $250 million manufacturer of plastic reusable packaging and a leader in supply chain solutions for the automotive and beverage industry. Prior to joining Orbis, he was Vice President and General Manager of Promo Edge, a leading supplier of promotional printed labels and displays. Mr. Schopp has 25 years of turnaround experience, building and then selling several of his own portfolio companies. He was previously a consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton specializing in strategy and marketing for Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Schopp holds both an M.S. and B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Choonyul Yoo serves as CEO of DMC, a leading auto part manufacturing in Korea since 2012 and COO of Dasan Networks Inc. since 1999.
Mr. Yoo served multiple CEO’s roles for Dasan Networks Inc’s manufacturing subsidiaries and Dasan Networks Solution after spin-off from Dasan Networks Inc. Prior to Dasan Networks Inc, Mr. Yoo commenced his career with Daewoo Motors, where he held various management positions on engineering areas.
Mr. Yoo holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dongyang Tech University.
Joon Kim brings to DASAN Zhone’s board more than 36 years of experience in audit and advisory services from KPMG. Prior to joining DASAN Zhone, Kim served as the National Partner in Charge of KPMG’s Korean practice, a role to which he was appointed in 2005. During his career at KPMG, he progressed through various financial statement audit roles, developing expertise in financial statement audits, operational reviews and special audits of specified areas of operations, regulatory supervisory advice, credit reviews, performance improvement, and internal control related advisory services, and in 1999 was promoted to Partner.
Mr. Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and is a Certified Public Accountant.
